Our excursion will start with a short walk through Kolomenskoye park, straight to the XVI century Ascension Church (particularly built to celebrate the birth of tsar Ivan the Terrible). The fact that it was built from stone makes it unique for the whole country and even includes it to the UNESCO List of World Heritage.
This fairytale-like promenade will bring you to the wooden palace – a favourite residence of the tsars Alexey the First, Elizaveta and the famous Peter the Great! Our guide will lead you through the Palace, which is nowadays an actual museum. You’ll have a chance to know how hospitable Alexey the First was and which delicacies he was serving to his guests in the meeting/dining room where you will definitely appreciate the interior and its details carefully restored by historians. By the way. have you heard about Medovukha –delicious traditional honey beer? Like a relaxing cherry on top of your culturally enriched day, Medovukha tasting will make it clear why this Slavic drink has been so famous since XVIII century: having walked through the Kolomenskoye park we will finish our tour near one of the local Medovukha producers (only in summertime).
