Today the holdings of the museum contain around 700 000 art works of different epochs. The jewel of the collection is French art of the XIX – XX centuries – one of the most famous collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings in the world.
In order to avoid crowds and long lines to the ticket office, we strongly advise you not to plan your visit during times of high attendance, like weekends in cold time of the year, and the time of exceptionally popular exhibitions. We also suggest that you avoid holidays, and times of special offers, as well as first and last days of temporary exhibitions.
Veterans of World War II, people with disabilities, elderly above 70 years-old, families with children under the age of 3 can visit the museum without waiting in line.
Please, behave carefully toward the museum or exhibition objects and showcases. In order to preserve the exhibits and in order of your safety, please do not touch, lean against museum objects and don’t go beyond the rope fencing.
There is a free Wi-Fi “Museum_free” with SMS-registration, that can be used in the museum. WI-FI is available in several museum halls, but you can download the apps at the entrance of the exposition. In order to avoid disturbing other visitors, please use headphones.
