Vladimir, Suzdal and Sergiev Posad Ultimate Day Trip. I normally advise against visiting Vladimir and Suzdal on a day trip because it involves a lot of driving thus making the experience quite tiring. And yet, if you’re short of time but full of energy and determination to see those popular Golden Ring destinations, it’s absolutely feasible if we set off at the crack of dawn.
Moreover, it’s even possible to squeeze in some other remarkable sights, first of all the town of Sergiev Posad with its magnificent monastery of St.Sergius as well as ancient Yuriev and Alexandrov which used to be the residence of notorious Ivan the Terrible.

My car is a Subaru Outback in great condition, perfectly comfortable for 3 passengers but can accommodate 4 (with less comfort, obviously).

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Vladimir, Vladimir, Vladimir Oblast, Central Russia
We’ll see the main medieval attractions of Vladimir: Dormition Cathedral, St. Dimetrius Cathedral and the Golden Gates. We may also stroll through the central part of the city to get a short glimpse.
The Dormition Cathderal functions both as a church and as u museum (from 1 pm to 5 pm). Most likely we’ll be visiting during a liturgy so some restricitons may apply.

Stop At: Suzdal, Suzdal, Suzdalsky District, Vladimir Oblast, Central Russia
The gem of the Golden Ring, a small bucolic town with lots of nice churches and beautiful scenery. We’ll have enough time to visit the Kremlin and walk/drive around the town.
The entrance to the grounds of the Kremlin costs 60 roubles, but if you want to visit the museums on its territory and go inside the cathedral, a full ticket must be purchased which is 400 roubles. Admission is not included. Instead of the Kremlin we may visit the St. Euthymius monastery which offers more attractions.

The spiritual centre of Russia for Orthodox Christians and a popular tourist attraction. Beautiful churches lavishly decorated with frescoes and icons. Admission is 700 roubles for foreign tourists and not included in the cost of the tour.
