During the walking tour, you will have the time to take pictures of this 73,000 square meters brick-paved square surrounded by the Kremlin Walls, Lenin’s Tomb, St Basil’s Cathedral, Resurrection gate, GUM superstore and the Russian State Historical Museum.

GUM is considered the main department store of Russia. It is located in a stunning historical building on the Red Square, and thus is one of the most famous landmarks of Moscow. The first grand opening of the store took place in 1893. It symbolized the beginning of new era for Moscow and was to become the largest, most fashionable and technically advanced European Department store. During this tour you will learn the fascinating history of GUM: how it was transformed and rebuilt several times, why Stalin was willing to destroy it and what stopped him, it is just endless! Today GUM is among the favorite places to spend free time for residents of the capital and a must-visit for tourists.

Tverskoy Boulevard was the first boulevard in the historical neighbourhood of Bely Gorod, «White Town» in Russian. The name comes from the fact that Bely Gorod was surrounded by white stone fortification wall which was built at the end of the 15th century and demolished at the end of the 17th century.
