The Red Square, a unique architectural ensemble which is included into the world heritage list of UNESCO. Here are situated the most known abroad sights of Moscow such as the Kremlin with its ancient red walls and towers, the Cathedrals of St. Basil (internal visit) and Our Lady of Kazan, the biggest History museum of Russia, trading arcades of GUM, Lenin’s tomb and necropolis.

It is a pedestrian street which connects Red Square and Lubyanka Square. In this street are situated the Kazan Cathedral, the Old Mint, Monastery of the Holy Saviour, Greek Monastery of St. Nicholas, the former Holy Synod Printing Offices, Russia’s first publishing house, the GUM store and the Dormition Church.

Lubyanka Square is well known for the headquarters of the KGB (now this building is occupied by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB). In the square there is a monument to the victims of the Gulag, a simple stone from the Solovki prison camp in the White Sea.
Opposite the FSB building stands the Detsky Mir («Children World»), Europe’s largest children’s store.

The square was called after the Moscow Manege which is situated here. The building was used first as a traditional manège, an indoor riding academy, and afterwards and now it is used as an exhibition. The Manezhnaya square is a pedestrian open space which connects the Red Square with the major traffic artery Tverskaya Street. During the 1990s the square was closed for traffic and renovated. The centrepiece of the refurbished square is a four-story underground shopping mall. You can see also a part of the Neglinnaya river which was decorated with fountains and statues of Russian fairy-tale characters.
